| welcome to the falls bus preservation group.ex belfast CITYBUS 2547/lough swilly 474.this bus finisehed it's working life with the lough swilly bus co{457}. it was in a bad way. the bodywork was in need of major work. we are transforming it back to citybus 2547 with a standee area and have reseated it to 16 seats;a little history for 2547 = AXI 2547=Bristol RELL6G RELL-3-2704 - Alexander (B) B39F 753/17 new 2/83; stored until 9/84; reseated to B45F ?/89;reserve 6/99;reinstated 9/99; w/d 1/04; to Lough Swilly 474 4/05; r/r 84 DL 2363 4/05; reseated to B51F 8/05; reseated to B52F by 4/07; w/d 6/07; to k menagh for preservation 11/08; r/r; axi 2547; 12/08;reseated to B16F by12/08; 5/09 work under way and nearing the end. body undercoated . interior in process of being finished of and painted.next will be lppv test when the paint work is sorted out.; update 30/6 advertising boards off.beading put back on; a few bars added to inside;11 july;new gallery;in service pictures;. 25 july update;pictures new cab security door ...... please also visit the group's other site of the now stripped citybus 2568/457 http://ken.photosnaps.org.uk/ |

november 2008 saw the start of 2547's preservation. photos have been added as work gets done.a lot of work has been done to date august 2009.it has been resated had a new inside roof.many faults in the electrical system have been fixed, some repaneling undercoated ect ect, but every time you look over her you find something else to do and it still hasn't been to the mechanic yet.
